Operationalizing GTM Strategy for Meltano’s Launch 🚀

Overview

Meltano, an open-source DataOps platform, was in the early stages of go-to-market planning. Although they had HubSpot in place, it hadn’t been fully implemented — and without a functional CRM or connected marketing stack, the GTM team couldn’t act on any of their strategy. They needed someone to take ownership of RevOps, operationalize their tools, and build the foundational infrastructure that would support their product launch.


The Challenge

  • HubSpot was installed, but underutilized and improperly configured

  • No centralized system to manage GTM activity or track funnel performance

  • Limited internal operations support and no RevOps owner

  • Needed to generate interest ahead of general availability (GA) launch

The Solution

I partnered with Emily Kyle, then Director of Marketing, to turn a loosely configured toolset into a high-functioning GTM engine. As Meltano’s RevOps partner, I led a strategic and technical overhaul focused on:

  • HubSpot Optimization: Audited, cleaned up, and configured the CRM and Marketing Hub for real GTM use cases

  • Marketing Automation Enablement: Activated campaigns, workflows, and lifecycle tracking to support demand generation

  • MarTech Stack Integration: Connected key tools to help the team track web traffic and buyer behavior more effectively

  • Process and Playbook Development: Established foundational documentation and GTM workflows for repeatable success

  • Strategic Enablement: Helped define lead stages, funnel KPIs, and reporting that aligned with business goals


The Results

  • Full activation of HubSpot for both CRM and marketing use, transforming it from shelfware into the team’s daily system of record

  • Clear buyer journey insights and campaign visibility through automation and lifecycle tracking

  • Enabled GTM team to execute for the first time, moving from theoretical planning to real activity
